Introduction
The Chamber of deputies hosts important cultural and artistic events and training projects to attract young people to parliamentary organisations.
The exhibitions at the Chamber of deputies are free and every year attract numerous visitors to Palazzo Montecitorio, Vicolo Valdina Complex and Palazzo del Seminario. A total of 150,000 visitors attended over 400 days of exhibitions from 1994 to June 2003. The main events were art shows but there were also photographic, space technology and philatelic exhibitions.
Montecitorio open day is usually held on the first Sunday of every month and admits visitors into the Chamber of deputies to admire Montecitorio Chamber, Corridor "dei passi perduti" (also known as the Transatlantico), the main public rooms and the many works of art (pictures, sculptures, furnishings) housed in them. Over the last five years more than 65,000 people have visited Montecitorio and admired the works of arts on these open days.
The Chamber has advanced relations between institutions and the public military band performances performances in Piazza Montecitorio. In addition, classical concerts, theatre and literary recitals, conferences and meetings on cultural topics, presentations of books, and other initiatives are held in Vicolo Valdina.
