How to attend sittings
Citizens wishing to attend a sitting of the Chamber of Deputies must go to the Public Lounge in Piazza del Parlamento no. 24 half an hour before the sessions begins. Here they must fill out an application form and produce a valid ID document. Depending on the availability of seats in the public gallery, a permit is issued within about 45 minutes. After permission has been granted, the applicant then goes to Piazza del Parlamento, no. 25 where, after being identified, they receive an admission ticket. Before entering the gallery, visitors are required to deposit any overcoats, bags, mobile phones and electronic devices, which are placed in special numbered security bags. Male visitors are also required to wear coat and tie. During the session, in the public gallery you are required to remain seated in silence and bareheaded, and it is forbidden to express any sign of approval or disapproval. The provisions concerning the keeping of order in the gallery are contained in Art. 64 of the Rules of Procedure.
